Nov. 11--Central Christian Church will again be the local "collection central" for Operation Christmas Child. Volunteer workers, for the seventh successive year, will collect and pack shoeboxes containing essential items for poor kids in the United States and around the world.
The church, at 1902 N. Hudson Ave., will receive gift-filled shoe boxes from the community during Operation Christmas Child's National Collection Week. Shoeboxes can be dropped off from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Nov. 20.
