Nov. 11--The holidays are a time for families, but many U. S. soldiers will be overseas without the comforts of home. That's where Gary's Care Packages comes in. Gary's Care Packages, which provides care packages to soldiers overseas, will hold a donation drive from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. today in the parking lot of the Armed Forces Recruiting Station, 6412 N. Navarro St. After U.S. Army Cpl. Gary W. Walters Jr. was killed in April 2005 while serving in Iraq, his family and friends decided to keep his memory alive by providing care packages to soldiers one package at a time.
