Breast cancer is of great concern to women in the United States. There are approximately 182,000 new breast cancer cases each year and 46,000 women die of the disease (American Cancer Society, 1993). Recently there have been controversial reports that a woman's risk of breast cancer is increased if she has had an abortion. An anti-choice group, A.I.M., has published Before You choose: The Link Between Abortion and Breast Cancer, detailing this "proven" link.
