Algiers is set to introduce the first private participation into its mining sector with the imminent sale of two subsidiaries of state mining company Entreprise Nationale des Produits Miniers Non-Ferreux et des Substances Utiles (Enof).
Canada's AntOro has been selected to take a 70 per cent stake in state bentonite company Societe des Bentonites d'Algerie (Bental) following the submission in 2005 of commercial bids by AntOro and Taures, also of Canada. An award is expected by the end of November.
AntOro will commit to maintain the company's two existing plants at Mzila near Mostaganem and Hammam Boughrara near Maghnia and develop new facilities on the ...
