Anthony B. Iton, MD, JD, MPH, will be awarded the 2006 Milton and Ruth Roemer Prize for Creative Local Public Health Work at the 134th APHA Annual Meeting in Boston in November.
The award recognizes a local health officer who has demonstrated exceptionally creative and innovative public health work.
Iton is a health officer with the Alameda County Public Health Department in Oakland, Calif. Prior to that post, Iton was director of health and social services for the city of Stamford, Conn.
