Close to 60 Liberal Party (LP) leaders from all over the country reaffirmed yesterday their support to Manila Mayor Jose "Lito" Atienza Jr. as the "real president" of the party even as they discounted the possibility of reconciling with Sen. Franklin Drilon who heads the other faction.
The LP stalwarts, who are members of the LP National Executive Council (NECO), also passed a resolution declaring their support for a Commission on Elections-supervised party polls, being the most democratic way of resolving the leadership impasse.
