(EDITORIAL from the Korea Times on Nov. 14)People were startled to hear that the head of the Korean Teachers and Education Workers' Union (KTU) is defying a Supreme Court ruling. Chang Hae-ok, KTU president, declared that she would run in the KTU presidential election slated for next month despite the court ruling disqualifying her as a teacher. Her preposterous attitude makes people wonder if she is outside the court's jurisdiction and above the rule of law.The Supreme Court fined Chang one million won last Friday on charges of violating the election law.
