Microsoft has put out Office Accounting Express 2007, a financial package targeted at early start-ups, eBay sellers and SOHOs that still use calculators and Excel spreadsheets, a market of some 20 million.

It's a free download and includes seven integrated online services. Microsoft says third-party services are available for additional fees.

It's supposed to let people sell goods online, send invoices, get paid electronically, process payroll, run credit reports and work with their accountant.
