RALEIGH, N.C., Nov. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- The latest rankings of teacher salaries in the nation show much work to be done to bring teacher salaries to a competitive level with other professions and with teachers in other states. "North Carolina, despite the dramatic efforts of the General Assembly and Governor Easley in the past two years to increase teacher salaries, continues to remain stagnant in comparison with the rest of the nation," declared Eddie Davis, President of the North Carolina Association of Educators (NCAE).
