Harry Worley proudly cradled the wrapped bundle as a father would hold a child - gently, but securely.
"The first pipe!" he proclaimed to other volunteers lined up outside St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
Make that the first of 1,554 pipes and about 10,000 other parts for the custom-made English organ being installed in the historic downtown sanctuary.
It would take Worley and 19 other volunteers about five hours to carry all the pieces of this treasure into the church. Inside , they laid the parts across the pews and up and down the aisles.
