BEEF cattle producers are going into next year with a good scenario but, on the other hand, with a number of problems, according to Feedstuffs sources.
Domestic beef supplies will be flat to lower than this year, which will support packers in the wholesale trade, giving plants the beef prices required to buy fed cattle and giving feedlots money to buy feeders that will be hard to source from a limited and, therefore, well-priced feeder supply.
On the other hand, beef demand is struggling, which could offset the impact of the tight beef supply and the plants' ability to bid cattle, and feedlots have large inventories that will pressure finished prices ...
