Nov. 15--PADAENG PROFIT UP 113 PERCENT: Padaeng Industry Plc has reported a consolidated net profit of 232.29 million baht in the third quarter of this year, an increase of 113 percent from the same period of last year.
Nine-month net profit rose 181 percent year-on-year to 1.24 billion baht.
The company attributed the improved performance to higher zinc prices over the nine months to Sept 30, averaging $2,966 per tonne, or 129 percent higher than in the same period last year. The average zinc price in the third quarter rose further to $3,363 per tonne.
