The city is casting a net for a firm to operate and maintain its Oceanside Municipal Golf Course.
The winning bidder would lease the property, consisting of a regulation 18-hole golf course set on about 150 acres on Douglas Drive. The city also is considering leasing, as part of the golf course operation, about 5.8 acres of vacant land adjacent to the property.
In 2005, the city developed a master plan for additional capital improvements to the golf course, and plans to spend between $3 million and $5 million on upgrades, according to Nathan Mertz, management analyst and parks development coordinator for the city's Public Works ...
