Third baseman Adrian Beltre has played the past two months with a bum left shoulder.
He's hoping rest will cure the problem, but for the moment, he doesn't want any rest. Given a chance for a day off Saturday, he told Mariners manager John McLaren he'd rather just be the DH. Sunday he was back in the lineup.
"I don't like days off," Beltre said before Sunday's start. "Being the DH yesterday, that seemed like a day off for me. I could go ahead and get my swings, then have 15 minutes before getting ready for the next."
