HOUSTON -- The Meridian Resource Corporation (NYSE:TMR) today announced that Dr. C. Mark Pearson has been elected to its Board of Directors, effective November 15, 2006. Dr. Pearson will serve as an independent director and will be submitted for election at the Company's annual shareholder meeting in 2007.
Dr. Pearson is a distinguished and accomplished executive with 29 years experience in the upstream oil and gas business covering both the exploration and production and well services industries.
