Nov. 16--The year 2006 will go down as the time when the Arizona Cardinals and the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl officially left Tempe for Glendale.
It would seem a harsh blow to any other community, but Tempe Mayor Hugh Hallman begs to differ. The city landed the Insight Bowl, trading corn for silicon. "One kind of chip for another -- and that kind of chip represents our future," Hallman said. The city is in a time of transition, Hallman said during his third annual state of the city speech Thursday.
