Catholic Health Initiatives in Denver pioneers disaster planning program.(HOSPITAL PURCHASING)

Disaster planning begins at the local level, with hospitals participating as contributors to their communities' response. However, hospitals also may be part of integrated delivery networks (IDN) with multiple locations, or even a national presence.

One such IDN has decided to work with its widely scattered members to share both local awareness and a national support system.

Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) in Denver is collecting the disaster preparedness plans of all of its hospitals and other facilities and maintaining them in a central repository.
