WINNIPEG, MB, Nov 16, 2006 (Resource News International via COMTEX) -- The Canadian dollar finished Thursday's North American trading session slightly weaker, as strength in the US dollar worked against the Canadian currency, said market watchers.

The Canadian dollar closed out the North American session at 87.60 US cents (C$1.1416) on Thursday. This compares with Wednesday's closing mark of 87.76 US cents (C$1.1395).

Analysts said a lack of economic releases in Canada allowed for external forces to direct the dollar.
