A BLACK headband, dental floss and a No 7 lipstick. These few items are part of a small, poignant collection of personal belongings identified by Margaret Hassan's family as the contents of the handbag she was carrying on the terrible day in October 2004 she was kidnapped in Baghdad.

They were found six months after the kidnap, along with her British passport and the registration plates of her Toyota Camry, wrapped in yellow plastic in the bedroom of a suspect's house 15 miles south of the city.

There was also a heartbreaking handwritten note which Margaret, sobbing, had read out in a video sent to the Al Jazeera TV ...
