Nov. 19--144,800 tourists visited Israel in October, 12 percent fewer than in October of last year, according to figures released by the Central Bureau of Statistics.

127,000 of the tourists came by air, 10 percent fewer than in October of last year. 16,800 came by land, a drop of 18 percent.
