Q: I've heard two sides to the use of the insecticide Sevin (Carbaryl). I don't like to use any pesticides/insecticides, but cucumber bugs are really causing me grief Can you shed some light on this subject?
A: Sevin is one of many products that contain the chemical 1-napthyl methylcarbamate, more commonly known as carbaryl, which is classified as moderately to very toxic, depending the source of the classification.
