Calyon, usually fairly quiet on the private placement scene, is on a roll as the agent launched two deals last week, both for France-based issuers. The two offerings are a rare treat for buysiders, as the country has also been quiet in the market so far this year.
The agent launched a $100 million deal for repeat issuer French conglomerate Bollore S.A.. It seeks to place it in seven-, 10- and 12-year bullets, a source said. Price talk was not available at press time.
"It's an interesting credit as it has strong positions in transportation logisitics," a source at Calyon said.
The issuer is viewed as a NAIC-2 type credit.
