Nov. 20--Q: Are there American Indian burial grounds located in the city of La Crosse? If so, where? A: Robert "Ernie" Boszhardt of the Mississippi Valley Archaeology Center wrote in 2000 about burial sites of American Indians of La Crosse. Here are some excerpts: "Due to massive alteration of the original landscape over the past 150 years, we will never know the extent of the pre-EuroAmerican Indian settlement of La Crosse.
