Nov. 17--Home sales in Buffalo Niagara declined 15 percent in October from a year ago, reflecting fallout from the surprise snowstorm.
The Buffalo Niagara Association of Realtors (BNAR) reported 672 homes sold, compared to 797 a year ago. It was the lowest total for October since 1996. Despite the drop in home sales, the median sale price increased 6.5 percent from a year ago, to $96,925. The median price means half of the homes sold for more than that amount, and half for less. The average sale price, which is more likely to be influenced by sales of extremely high- or low-priced homes, was $117,956, down 1 percent from a year ...
