The Gophers must win a home game today against the worst Iowa team in six years in order to qualify for another fourth-tier bowl game. Followers of the Minnesota sports scene have been asked to celebrate this possibility, since we should have been aware that Glen Mason was in the midst of a rebuilding season.

Before swallowing this theory whole, there's a requirement to ask this question: Rebuilding from what?

In the jargon of sports, rebuilding indicates that a team has enjoyed large success and now has a nucleus of young talent gaining the experience for a return to glory.
