LESS than ten years after being forced to sell his home in a row over a [pounds sterling]373,000 mortgage, Peter Mandelson has made an astonishing leap up the property ladder.

The European Trade Commissioner has just bought a [pounds sterling] 2.4million house in Primrose Hill, North-West London, it was revealed yesterday.

He had to quit his job as Trade Secretary in 1998 after accepting a loan from former Paymaster General Geoffrey Robinson which he failed to disclose.

Now, after trading up three times, the 53-year-old master of spin is a neighbour of Jude Law, Kate Moss and Sienna Miller.
