Contract OM&M improves water, wastewater services for Louisiana parish. (operation, maintenance and management)(Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana)

Plaquemines Parish, LA, contracted out the operation, maintenance and management (OM&M) of its water and wastewater treatment facilities and collection and distribution systems to a private firm in late 1992. Soon after, the parish expanded the contract to include water meter reading, billing and collection functions. Contract OM&M continues to benefit the parish by ensuring its continued compliance with evolving treatment requirements, preserving its existing infrastructure and by providing system improvements at lower costs.
