A FALKLANDS veteran from Great Barr has been awarded one of the Navy's highest honours after 34 years serving queen and country.
Warrant Officer Tony Brown, aged 49, was given Royal Navy's Meritorious Service Medal which is reserved for just a handful of Royal Navy and Royal Marine noncommissioned officers each year.
Tony, currently serving at HM Naval Base Clyde on the west coast of Scotland, has served on a total of nine ships and held key shore positions at the Permanent Joint Headquarters, in Northwood.
