No matter how you feel about the outcome of the recent elections, it seems to me we can all agree that something needs to be done about the way the campaigns are conducted.

For one thing, there's the money. More than $2.6 billion, much of it from special interest groups that will expect something in return, was spent on advertising during the campaign.
