Cameroon and Gabon lead the way in Central African banking. Gabon's BGFI Bank holds top spot with capital of $138m, followed by Cameroon's Societe Generale de Banques with $54m. Four other Cameroonian banks and three more Gabonese financial institutions make the Top 10, while CCEI Bank GE of Equatorial Guinea completes the regional table. Despite their substantial oil and mineral wealth respectively, no banks from Congo-Brazzaville or Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) make it into the Top 10.
