It seems fitting that Bob McCurry, who hammered on Toyota Japan for years to give the United States a full-sized pickup, was laid to rest on the day the automaker was conducting the line-off ceremony in San Antonio for its first legitimate big truck.
McCurry died Monday, Nov. 13, at age 83. He had retired as vice chairman of Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A. Inc. in 1993 after an 11-year career in which he ceaselessly badgered Japan for more styling and product autonomy for the U.S. arm.
