CNN "American Morning" business anchor Andy Serwer is leaving his regular gig on the show to become managing editor of Fortune magazine.
Serwer, an editor-at-large at the mag and its "Street Life" columnist, has served as business anchor for CNN's ayem show for several years.
He said he's hoping to maintain some presence on CNN, which like Fortune is owned by Time Warner, but editing the magazine won't permit a daily TV appearance.
"Being editor of Fortune is a full-time job," he said. "I'm thrilled about it, but giving that program up is really painful."
