You may not know his name, but you probably know his face. John Paul DeJoria is the man with the slicked-back ponytail in the black-and-white Paul Mitchell shampoo ads and TV commercials. After working in sales and marketing for hair care companies and starting his own consulting business, DeJoria was down on his luck in 1980.
