Now we know that the "East Coast bias" known to influence the outcome of baseball's awards refers to the east coast of Lake Harriet.
Justin Morneau won the American League MVP Award on Tuesday, joining Joe Mauer (batting title), Johan Santana (Cy Young), Torii Hunter (Gold Glove) among Twins celebrants from the 2006 season.
Mauer, Santana and Hunter earned their accomplishments by being who they are - baseball's purest hitter, baseball's most dominant pitcher and a human highlight reel on defense.
