For west-metro schools, there was a lot of good news hidden behind the bad that surrounded the release last week of the statewide test results by the Minnesota Department of Education.
Amid all the worry and woe, here are a few of the highlights:
Some very good news: Of the 14 west-metro districts that draw students from the areas we cover in Star Tribune West, eight had perfect report cards. That is, every one of their schools made "Adequate Yearly Progress."
Those districts included Eden Prairie, Minnetonka, Westonka, Orono, Rockford, Delano, Waconia and Watertown-Mayer. Among them, they had 36 schools that all made the ...
