PHILADELPHIA--June 22--South Africa's new government wants American businesses to invest in a country previously marred by trade sanctions and apartheid.
South Africa's Department of Trade and Industry and the South African Foreign Trade Organization yesterday presented a seminar at the Warwick Hotel at 17th and Locust streets, promoting U.S. investment and trade with the country.
The Philadelphia stop is the second among five preliminary seminars centered around a South African industrial trade exposition to be held in September in New York. Yesterday's session discussed the country's plan for economic growth and other issues.
