Thirty-six new Shari'a (Muslim court) lawyers who passed the examinations last May are scheduled to take their oath before the Supreme Court on Tuesday.
Justice Angelina Sandoval Gutierrez, chairperson of the 2006 Bar examinations committee, will be the speaker.
As new lawyers, the 35 successful examinees will now be able to represent parties before the Shari'a courts which have original jurisdiction over cases involving violations of the Code of Muslim Personal Laws of the Philippines under Presidential Decree No. 1083.
