Kirsten Miller is a tutor who works with autistic children, trying to break into their closed worlds, coaxing communication from them and giving their parents hope for a brighter future.
But the Westville-based author and teacher never envisaged a life of working with special-needs children.
She believes this line of work chose her - and her journey with autistic children and her own growth on the journey is documented in a fascinating new book, Children on the Bridge, that is in bookstores now.
