Nov. 24--PANAMA CITY Through all the changes on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard over the years, Barnes Dry Cleaners has been nestled quietly on the corner of 10th Street, dependably filling a need for smoothly pressed shirts and crisply cleaned suits.
The store still serves a long list of loyal customers and most of its employees are entering their second and third decades at Barnes, but the MLK mainstay now operates under new ownership.
After 50 years of service to a clientele that extended to all ends of Bay and some surrounding counties, Tony Barnes Jr. sold the store this summer to Jerry and Bird Steele.
