CHRISTMAS came to Chelmsley Wood today when a children's television character helped Santa switch on the festive lights.
Fizz, from the popular show The Tweenies, was due to hand out chocolates and treats to children from 12.30pm at Chelmsley Wood Shopping Centre, before turning on the lights with Santa at 5pm.
Tomorrow Santa will spend his first day in his grotto, asking youngsters for their festive wishes.
He will join a musical procession at 11 am with entertainment from the Redditch Revolutions Majorettes and the Warwick Girls Marching Band.
