A groundbreaking bill was recently proposed by Russia[sup.3]s State Duma deputies Alexander Krutov and Nikolay Leonov from Rodina faction, led by Alexander Babakov, which prohibits married women from having abortions without their husbands' consent. The bill, explained Krotov, its author, guarantees the equality of both parents in the important decision-making process regarding childbearing. Rodina head, Alexander Babakov expressed satisfaction in the new proposal, saying that the bill would ensure the most basic rights of a parent.
