Work-site experience in technical writing classes. (A Teaching Tip)

Duplicating the environment and the demands of the working world is a common goal in many technical writing classrooms and textbooks. In an attempt to make students aware of the needs of the audience, assignments are often designed to simulate tasks and problems that students will encounter on the job after they graduate. Many activities provide such experience by having students respond to casebook studies or hypothetical situations that correspond to actual work-site writing tasks.
