Orgnsd retail sector can capture 35 per cent market: Baillie
Ahmedabad, Nov 24 (PTI) Organised retail sector can only capture 30 to 35 per cent retail market of India, CEO of Hindustan Lever Limited Douglas Baillie said here today.
Addressing the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad's Confluence 2006 (RPT 2006), Baillie said the organised retail sector was three per cent of the total market at present and cannot go beyond 30 to 35 per cent.
There were many factors which will not allow organised retail sector to grow beyond a point like urban rural divide and reach of organised retail players, he added.
