Nov. 22--MORAGA -- For the first five games of the season, something had been missing from the St. Mary's College men's basketball team.
Sure, the Gaels could count on their defense, which has been the calling card of the squad. As far as their offense was concerned, well, let's just say it's been a work in progress. Judging by Tuesday night's effort against TCU, the tide has begun to turn. St. Mary's came out firing and used what coach Randy Bennett termed "the best first half we've played all year" to propel itself to a 74-53 victory over the Horned Frogs at McKeon Pavilion.
