Nov. 25--It will be a labor of love on Saturday when Texan Benjamin Loeb shares his two great passions with one Greater Bridgeport Symphony audience.
The event, at Bridgeport's Klein auditorium, represents a rare opportunity for area music-lovers to watch a musician doing double duty. Not only will Loeb serve as guest conductor for the "Gershwin's Greatests" concert, he will be the piano soloist on one of the composer's most beloved pieces: "Rhapsody in Blue." Also on the 8 p.m. program are Gershwin's "American in Paris," Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake" Suite and Duke Ellington's jazzy interpretation of Tchaikovsky's "Nutcracker."
