A warehouse fire that injured five homeless people and a Denver firefighter Saturday has sparked the concern of fire officials over vacant properties left unsecured.
"It's incumbent on the landlords to supervise their properties and to make sure they are secure," Denver Fire Department spokesman Lt. Phil Champagne said Sunday. "That's really a recipe for disaster. We're very fortunate that in this case, firefighters were able to get everybody out."
