Nov. 28--College football's regular season draws to a close and we all know what that means: pink slips and name changes on the courtesy-car deals.
The ACC actually got the jump on the firing season when North Carolina canned John Bunting in late October. Michigan State followed suit a week later when it axed John L. Smith.
Both retained the honor of coaching their respective student-athletes through the end of the season, embodying the lamest of lame duckery.
