Maine-based dairy processor Oakhurst Dairy is on its way to operating New England’s largest private biodiesel truck fleet.
By year’s end, Oakhurst Dairy expects more than 90% of its fleet, or 130 delivery trucks, to operate on biodiesel fuel.
The switch will make the Oakhurst fleet the largest private biodiesel fleet in New England, reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 1,332 tons per year, Oakhurst said. The company also will operate the nation’s largest biodiesel dairy fleet.
