Even more than the iPod and similar MP3 digital music players, the mobile phone has now become the major driving force behind the ongoing digital music revolution.

According to the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), digital music sales tripled to $1.1 billion last year from $380 million in 2004, as music via the Internet and mobile phones proliferated and spread across the world.
