When Canada's medicines authority, Health Canada, brought in government regulations for the natural health product industry in 2004, the growing sector welcomed these and did everything to comply, says the Canadian Health Food Association. As a result, it adds, Canadian consumers have access to safe, efficacious and high quality products which are "the envy of the world."
